The price of LED bulb is declining
7/24/2011The improving of LED luminous efficiency achieve the LED lighting age coming early.LEDinside make a survey in retail price of LED bulbs which brightness are 450 to 485 lumens.Survey shows that these LED bulbs price is falling from last year to June 2011.Single LED bulb average retail price came to $ 24 and about $ 52 per thousand lumens.LED bulb prices continue to decline is expected to stimulate the expansion of applications.
LEDinside found,the price of LED bulb has a significantly decline.In Japan,the retail price pf LED light bulb in 2010 about $ 40,now the minimum retail price is $ 18.The most obvious decline is in the second quarter of 2010 which have 35%.Although the decline is narrowed, however,there are still 2-digit quarterly decline until the end of 2010.In the first quarter of 2011,the LED bulb price decline only 3%.The second quarter,due to the earthquake,the demand is becoming large,the price is stable.
LEDinside research department says,At present,the LED bulb initial price is still expensive.It is too early to fully substitute for energy-saving light bulbs.But prices continued to decline,it will accelerate the growth of LED bulb market.
At the same time,the Japanese market has appeared LED light bulb sales surpass traditional light bulb in the June.South Korean manufacturer of low-cost LED light bulbs strategy,as well as Philips, Osram, GE and other companies in the global market of LED bulbs strategy has become apparent.Alternative LED light bulb market has successed in Japan,and it starting to spread to North America, Europe and other mature markets.
